OXYGENE

Commissioned by the agency Mythologies, the Atelier Nils Rousset designed an aerial installation on the 8th floor of a building in the heart of the La Defense business district. This collection of multiple-mirrored chrome clouds reflects an atmospheric view, designed to give the guests a higher view point and let them keep their heads in the clouds.

Thanks to a hidden mechanism, the clouds constantly rotate. The clouds’ mirrored surface reflects the sky and beckons the surroundings, catching sunlight and throwing cloud-shadow on the ceiling.
Each section of cloud moves in concentric circles depending on different inclinations, which gives the clouds a sense of volume and roundness, and creates a soft blue effect.
